About: Fredy Milton Morales and his father used to stop at a scenic bridge near their farm-to-be, enjoying coffee and the view. In 2015, they bought this dream location, naming it Cascada Encantada to honour its breathtaking scenery. The farm’s high-altitude location (1,800–1,995 meters) provides the perfect climate for sweet, dense coffee cherries. Fredy also oversees Finca Rosma, founded by his father, Alejandro, in 1963 and renamed in honour of Fredy's wife, Rose Mary, in 1980.
Fredy not only cultivates exceptional coffee but also empowers local farmers. Through Rosma Coffeelands, he offers high-quality seedlings, refinancing credit, and health support. His initiatives help farmers improve coffee production while combating Coffee Leaf Rust. Beyond production, Fredy fosters community well-being, particularly with the establishment of Coffee Kinder in 2022. This on-farm childcare centre provides a safe, educational space for workers’ children during harvest season, reducing child labor and enabling both parents to work. This initiative boosts family incomes and strengthens the labor force, with sales in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa funding the program.
