BRAZIL | Santa Clara | Catuai | Fermented Natural
Fazenda Santa Clara is a multi-generational coffee farm in Brazil’s Mantiqueira de Minas region, established in the early 1900s by Italian and Portuguese immigrants. What began as a small family holding has evolved into a long-term agricultural project shaped by continuity rather than scale.
For much of its modern history, the farm was led by Moacyr Dias Pereira and his wife, Alayde Graciano Pereira, who helped guide Santa Clara through Brazil’s transition toward specialty coffee production. Today, stewardship has passed to their four children, Fernando, Carlos Henrique, Eduardo, and Luciana, representing the fourth generation working the land. Carlos Henrique Pereira plays a leading role in managing daily operations and refining quality standards.
The Pereira family’s approach centers on sustainable agriculture and careful land management. Significant portions of the farm are preserved as native forest, alongside protected water sources, reflecting a belief that long-term quality depends on environmental stability.
Santa Clara stands as a steady, generational effort; each phase building on the last, with a focus on durability, consistency, and respect for the land.
